Misunderstood

An elegy for Piggy

He was not a fighter, or a hunter,

Piggy had another, greater thing.

He possessed alertness, in abundance,

But he was not treated like a king.

Everyone on that forsaken island,

Would have little interest in him.

When he tried to help them they would scorn him,

And make fun of him, which made him very grim.

Piggy had no place to run, or hide there,

He’d stay, like a prisoner of war.

He would try to make things there more civil,

But the rest would hate him even more.

He deserved rewarding for his efforts,

But he did not pass his final test.

On his final plan to bring back order,

He encountered the worst thing – death.
