My Cat

See the cat,

With its glowing eyes

See how peacefully it lies

The slightest noise can wake it up

That’s when I had dropped my cup

It puts its paws

Upon the ground,

So lightly it won’t make a sound

It pushes out its paws in front

It stretches like it wants to taunt

Because the cat

Can really stretch

It does look good enough to sketch

After its morning exercise

It walks to me with no surprise

It jumps up on

My comfy lap

Then it decides to take a nap

It curls up in a cuddly ball

And purrs away, I can recall

Purr purr mrrrreow,

It says to me

It’s the cutest thing, you see,

That you’ll find in the world

Everyone would like to hold

My beloved orange cat, lying on its soft gray mat.
